Is Shakeology Really That Good???

Shakeology_Choc_Gbry

I want to talk about Shakeology. When I first heard of it, I felt like….ok, that’s good. BUT when I saw the price, I basically BALKED. I said NO WAY will I EVER pay that much for a DRINK!!! PLEASE!!! I can just go to GNC, buy a protein shake, and be done with it.

Then one day, I took a look at all of the ingredients in Shakeology like Gogi, Acai, Maca, and even Biotin, and saw if I bought these items separately; I’d be paying WAY more for that  than the price of a box/bag of Shakeology. So not only is Shakeology really THAT GOOD, but its helps give you energy, lose weight, and lowers cholesterol. Also, this patent-pending daily nutritional shake helps your body gently eliminate toxins more efficiently while allowing for better absorption of the essential nutrients you need. It comes in flavors of Greenberry and Chocolate, and Chocolate is my ABSOLUTE FAV!!! Even 100 Doctors recommend this product to their patients due to its ability to lower cholesterol. Check it out here:

Now I see why it’s worth the price

It’s March…do you know where your New Year’s Resolution Is???

March Resolution

Well, here it is folks. March. March is the HARDEST month of your weight loss journey. Why? Because the newness of the year has died down and all of the excitement of it has dissolved. It’s back to real life, daily grind, usual hustle and bustle and you can inevitably fall back into the same slump you were in around this time a year ago.  Hopefully you’re still gun ho as you were 2 months ago. If not…keep reading. If you are….still…keep reading….

This month, I’m gonna do a series of videos dedicated to this very thing. We have to stick together to keep ourselves motivated. It’s not easy; trust me I know this but you have to keep going. You have to really buckle down and say enough is enough and I’m tired of being sick and tired; I don’t want to end up in the same place I do year after year after year. I wanna see what it’s like to accomplish THIS goal.

What I don’t think alot of us realize is weight loss requires just as much dedication that you put towards everything else you do in life be it school, career, family…or whatever. You just truly have to take some time to take care of you and make sure you handle your business well. It requires just as much determination, diligence, and don’t miss this…patience. You didn’t get you 4yr degree in a month and a half and you don’t climb up the corporate ladder in the first week of being there. Make sure you give yourself all the time you need to make things happen.

Most importantly, don’t wait. Don’t waste another minute contemplating on what you think you should do. It’s its the middle of the week…start…the middle of the day..start. I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. I remember trying to lose weight when I was younger; I worked out twice a day between 3:30-6:00pm and I had great results…and it started on a Thursday. I’d just decided I was going to do better and did so and kept it going.

Trust me, I know all about the allure of beginning at the beginning, but I’m  also well aware of the reality that none of that matters if you’re not in the right position to move forward. No matter the million steps you have to take to get to where you want to go, it all starts with one and continues with the rest. Just keep going. Also, you don’t have to keep starting over. That will mentally drain you. If you’ve started and stopped, picked up where you left off. If you have gained all your weight back then yes you do have to start over and there should come a time when you get absolutely tired of that. Again, You have to make it up in your mind that you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired. You already know what it feels like on this side of the journey, take the time to find out what it’s like on the other side of accomplishment. It will be a release of physical and mental  weight being lifted from your shoulders. Once you’ve accomplished big things; your confidence in your own abilities will soar and you’ll find yourself asking “What else can I accomplish” It’s a great feeling, but it starts with one step.

Make that step today if you haven’t; if you have…keep steppin’.

How to Spot Reduce

spot reduction

In order for spot reduction to be effective, you must practice clean eating, resistance training, and cardiovascular exercise. Oh….I’m sorry, did you think I was gonna say all you have to do crunches and squats every morning and you’re good??? LOL. If you want that knock out body, you have to do the aforementioned; you can not just work on one or two parts. Body fat comes off in Sagittal, Frontal, and Tranverse planes…..

Now wait, I know you’re asking yourself, Kenya, what in the HECK is the Sagittal, Frontal, and Transvers planes??? Allow me to explain…

Sagittal (anteroposterior) Plane – Includes forward and backward motions, like sit-ups, back extensions or biceps curls. The sagittal plane cuts through the center of the body, so the motion is front to back or back to front, including straight forward running. Squats involve flexion (forward motion) and extension (backwards on the way up), so would fit into the sagittal plane.

Frontal (coronal) Plane – Side to Side movements; which includes leaning from left to right as in sidebends and lateral raises, or perhaps you might picture jumping jacks for a good image of movement along the frontal plane.

Transverse (horizontal) Planes – Rotational movements; The transverse (horizontal) plane passes through the body in a line parallel to the ground, dividing the body into upper and lower portions.  An example of a transverse plane exercise would be floor to overhead diagonals with a medicine ball, and a transverse activity might be swinging a golf club.

Now that you see the levels in which you lose fat, I sincerely hope you have a better understanding of how to lose the fat and keep it off. It’s gonna take some work. It won’t be pretty, it won’t be over night, but it will definitely be worth it. Make it a point to press play, hit the gym, or the walking/bike trail EVERY DAY (except one or two, you do need your rest) and you will be in the best shape of your life. \o/

Operation: Warehouse to Brickhouse – Introduction

Kenya

Check out my first video!!!

This is by far the realest I’ve been to myself in a while. As I watch the video, I still can’t believe how candid, honest, straight forward, and raw I was. I’m well aware of the challenges AND TRIUMPHS ahead of me and for that; I must get past all of my petty issues and make it do what it do. Not only for myself, but for anyone else who is facing this issue. Let’s get it starightened out once and for all. I will vow to lose this weight; visually, so all can see the change in my body, my life, my mind, and my spirit month to month, and other times when I just feel like coming on to talk. No matter how well I’ve done, or how bad I’ve done, I will be sure to show you guys my progress as well as my slip ups and shortcomings. There’s an anointed purpose to all of this and I will make sure going forward I always show you guys whats up with me.  Anyone who has followed a work out/weight loss plan knows how hard it can be; especially when you don’t meet the goals you’d like. So I urge you, KEEP GOING! Never give up, never stop, keep pushing through. It may seem as though you’re never gonna get it right but as long as you’ve been blessed to see another day then you have another chance to get it right. Keep on keepin’ on; you’ll get there in time! That’s what I tell myself every day and it has helped me to lose the 18 I’ve already have; I trust and pray it will help me lose the rest. \o/
